Hi,
Would anybody like to share some benchmarks or opinios ?
In order to scale search database to 100 millions of documents with
distributed computing (NFDS)wich you've found or would find best (fastest
search time / money cost considering) :
small number of "monster" servers (Dual Xeon 3.2GHz / 2 x 73 gb SCSI - 8 x
300GB HD / 12 GB RAM / wich would reach 10 million documents each server) or
a large number of smaller servers (Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz+ / 2 x 300 GB HD
/ 2 gb RAM / with 1Million ~ 2 million documents each server) ?
Also, would you recommend another architeture?
Thanks in advance.
Marco
