NOTICE OF RACE Western Canada Cup
Victoria, BC March 5-6 2011 1. HOST The event will be hosted by the University of Victoria Sailing Club at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club 2. DATES Saturday the 5th through Sunday the 6th of March 2011 3. RULES The regatta will be governed by the ICSA Procedural Rules (Fall 2009 – Spring 2012), the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of sailing, the Sailing Instructions and Notice of Race. 4. FORMAT AND ELIGIBILITY All NWICSA Regular or Provisional Member Schools in good standing are eligible to sail. 5. BOATS This regatta will be sailed in Flying Juniors, some charters are available on a limited first come first served basis. 6. SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Saturday, March 5, 2011 0900 Report Time 0930 Competitor’s Meeting 1000 First Warning Sunday, March 7, 2011 0930 Report Time 1000 First Warning 1500 No Starting Signal After 7. VENUE The event will be held at Royal Victoria Yacht Club 3475 Ripon Road Victoria, BC V8R 6H1 8. DOCUMENTATION Complete, signed RP forms will be required for scoring purposes. 9. HOUSING Housing will be available through the UVic Sailing Club. 10. TRAVEL Passports are required to cross into Canada or the United States by land or sea for US or Canadian Citizens. It is strongly recommended that all travelers take the BC Ferries on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route to get to Victoria. The BC Ferry runs until 9:00pm, which will allow all sailors to stay until the end of the Regatta on Sunday. To get to Tsawwasen, take the I5 to Canada, and follow the signs to the Tsawwassen ferry. All travelers are encouraged to arrive at least one hour prior to departure, and MUST arrive 30 minutes before a reservation. 11.
