I just ignore any of the "awesome" and "rockstar" stuff. I suspect an awful lot of other people do too. If that makes me silly then fine. If it means I miss stuff, then fine. Don't appeal to my vanity because it embarrasses me. I am currently working with a large team of Rails devs, who are all very competent and hard working (as well as being good fun to work with), and as far as I know none of them responded either. DHH wouldn't have responded ... Maybe if I knew Rob personally I would have responded differently, I dunno.
