Hey all, I just wanted to take the time to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
If you've not guessed already we are *not* doing a meetup tomorrow (15th Dec). You can blame a very busy Xmas schedule and if we are all honest, a lot of you will be watching the new Star Wars film instead. I want to set you some homework for the festive period, while you are having some down time. We've got a really good community and there is a ton of untapped knowledge. We think that if we could tap into this knowledge then the community will benefit as a whole. People can improve their skills, find new work and break into the industry. Sessions can be anything from 15 to 40 minutes in length (or longer if you’ve got a lot to say!), and don’t necessarily have to be about Ruby specifically. It can be an advanced technical talk or something much simpler and/or softer. We welcome talks from right across the spectrum. As long as it’s a subject that will be of interest and relevant to people who code, then it will almost certainly be welcomed at NWRUG. And don’t worry if you’re not a seasoned presenter. Many people have given their first talk at NWRUG and we’re happy to assist in any way we can to help your talk go smoothly. If you’re looking for some inspiration and ideas for talks go see our event archive <http://nwrug.org/events> for an idea of the sorts of talks we’ve had before. If a full talk sounds daunting or you have something shorter in mind, you can ease yourself in with a lightning talk. With your help we can make NWRUG more awesome! Thanks and see you next year, Ben (and team NWRUG) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "North West Ruby User Group (NWRUG)" group.
