Daniel,
I did receive mail-in rebate checks. However, few things you may
want to keep it mind:
1. When they say "It takes 8-10 weeks", read that as at least 12
weeks. And of course, you are out of luck if you move during the meantime.
2. Read the fine print, especially when it says one rebate per
customer. As soon as they found out you submit more than once, either as
same or different purchase(s), they will reject that at no time. And of
course, they are not going to call you and YOU have to call them. This
heppened to me once when I bought something for work and for myself. I
used the same address for rebates (what a big mistake) under the thought
that they are two different purchases (thus two different customers
even as the same person). After trying to resolve the problem by calling
them, I finally gave up and decided not to waste my time to get the lousy
$50 considering the time and long distance phone bill you have to spend.
3. If you do call them, rebate center or manufacturer, take down all the
names. Even with that, they seem to be very GOOD at getting you to run
around between the rebate staff, manufacturer and vendor.
I am sure anyone involved in Purchase Department can tell you even
more entertaining stories than mine when it comes to rebate.
Bon
