Hi,

I just moved in to a new apartment. I am on the 7th floor in the middle of the block and a phone booth from a large phone company is on the corner about 50 meters away. I have line of sight to the phone booth from my balcony. What I am looking to do (if it's possible) is to point a directional antenna at the phone booth from the corner of my balcony and then run ethernet for about 5 feet into the house where the signal could be rebroadcasted via a wireless router.

So are there any recommendations on a cheap (of course) way to do this. Will it work? Also, how will the no-cat software that the phone company uses react to this? Will the repeater/antenna remain logged in, or will that request be passed off to the client machine (through the interior router)?

Thanks!

Michael
