Radio and Electrical Engineers Types,

I'm designing a surface mount circuit board with a wireless/radio component. the wireless/radio part operates at 434 MHz and needs a 6.5 inch antenna. I've been using a regular (24 guage) wire so far, and it's been working great. So the plan is to make a 6.5 inch trace on the printed circuit board.... Any one have experience with this? I think in theory it should work. I know that there are some very elaborate formulas for this. In this application it's ok if the antenna is only 40% as effective as the wire antenna, it's more important that it just does work somewhat....

if anyone has experience with this or can point me in the right direction i'd greatly appreciate it.
thanks!

Yury
