Subject: [OneidaBirds] Snowy Owl

Earlier today I received an email about a SNOWY OWL in Radison. I was at first
skeptical until I received a call from Jean soprano, a wildlife rehabilitator,
who is a good friend. She had been to radison to try to capture the bird but it
turns out it is in apparent good health. When I got there the bird was on the
ground mantling a capture. As I walked toward it it flew to a nearby house. I
have posted a picture on this site and if you get the picture in the large
format you can see the prey (chipmunk or rat?) in its talons. It appears to be
a male. This is the latest I have ever seen or heard of a Snowy in our area.
