Mark Dedea and I found a Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow this morning at Southlands Horse Farm, just south of Rhinebeck, Duchess Co. We had no camera so we called Gene McGarry who came all the way out to get photos of the bird. I've posted one on my Flickr site.

Southlands is located just south of Rhinebeck on Rt. 9. It is on the west side of Rt.9. It is open to the public. The bird seems to be pretty faithful to the drainage ditch that runs perpendicular to the main farm road that is behind the barn. You can find the drainage ditch by locating the line of cattails that grow along the ditch. We also found 4 Vesper Sparrows, well over 30 Pipits, and a few Fox Sparrows.
Good luck if you go looking!
