Just to let folks know that some additional birders were out at the
Point this afternoon but none have not been able to confirm the loon
report. Several of us will check the area again tomorrow morning and
will post to NYSBIRDS_L if there is any news, positive or negative.

To my knowledge, none of the Western Kingbirds were not seen today and
migrant passerines are few and far between. 16 Eastern Bluebirds and 4
Eastern Meadowlarks were off Promised Land Road. At Hither Hills SP, I
found a couple of Eastern Phoebes and a lone male Snow Bunting.

There are still masses of Atlantic Gannets and scoter feeding around
the South Fork. This afternoon, I counted 1,500 Gannets feeding right
off the beach in East Hampton. Common Eider remain widespread on the
south side (ocean) and I even found groups birds along the north shore
of the peninsula (e.g. 50 at Lazy Point in Napeague and 20 between
Clearwater Beach in Springs and Shelter Island) which is even more
unusual.
