While birding along Dune Road today (Sunday) at 4:20PM, I saw and photographed a Sandhill Crane. The bird was seen standing just east of the "Berm", which is east of Dockers Restaurant. It took off, after a Great Blue Heron swooped past, and was last seen flying north- east over the marshes of Shinnecock Bay. I tried to follow by car, but was unable to relocated the bird.
