Hmmm. Paul is making the birding community aware of an opportunity to see good
birds. Isn't that the reason this list exists?

  Hi,

I've noticed these ads before and wonder how they are appropriate for NYS
Birds? Aren't these emails using NYS Birds to advertise a commercial
operation? I have no reason to think or believe See Life Paulaugics isn't a
first rate profit making operation, but why these fellows and not others?

Perhaps I have the wrong end of the stick?

  Thanks,

  John Laver

We still have space on Sunday's 8-hour pelagic trip out of Freeport, NY.
The marine forecast as of the last update is for very calms seas in the
morning, with winds picking up some in the afternoon. Understand that it's a
weather forecast, so they may be wrong, but right now it's looking pretty good.

Our plan is to work the inshore areas that we normally just pass through
for Common Murre, Thick-billed Murre, and maybe even Black Guillemot, all of
which we've seen on past trips. The water is still fairly warm (well, warm to
an alcid) inshore so if we get out far enough, we might even have a shot at
Dovekie or Puffin. We'll be chumming along the way to keep gulls behind the
boat, and have a good shot at Glaucous, Iceland, and Lesser Black-backed Gulls,
and possibly Kittiwake. We can also expect more inshore species like Gannets,
loons, and waterfowl.

Visit our web site or contact us for more information or to sign up. If
you plan on taking the train to Freeport, let us know so we can arrange a rides
between the train station and the boat.

    Hope to see you aboard.
