Feb. 22, 2010 Clinton County My wife Betsy and I saw all three birds this morning. The Hawk Owl was seen at about 8 am in a tree behind 494 Prospect St. in Champlain. While we were leaving the area at about 10 am the bird was seen again, this time on the south side of Prospect St. opposite 494 Prospect St. The Ivory Gull was best seen from the Rouse's Point Bridge. The bird was well south of the bridge. The male Tufted Duck was seen from route 9 about one mile north of the intersection of route 442 and route 9. It was in a raft of about 100 Greater and Lesser Scaup. Thanks to Pat Jones for finding the Ivory Gull and the Tufted Duck and to Shai Mitra for directions. Great Birding, Joe Giunta
