The* IVORY GULL* continues to be seen at the breakwater in Rouses Point (Clinton Co.) this morning (Sat 27 Feb). Further south on Lake Champlain (c.30 miles), the male *TUFTED DUCK* is being seen in a raft of scaup from Ausable Point Road. I've not seen any reports of the Northern Hawk Owl that has been seen off and on near the junction of Prospect Road and Gamlaw Road in Champlain. A Northern Shrike has also been seen in that area. With so many birders out and about today, maybe there will be additional reports and perhaps additional discoveries.
The Northern New York Birds (NNYBIRDS) list (see link below) is the best place to look for timely updates and specific directions. http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NNYB.html Thanks to Dana Rohleder, Tom and Donna Gooley and several others for checking on the birds and posting useful information. -- Angus Wilson New York City & The Springs, NY, USA http://birdingtotheend.blogspot.com/ -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html 3) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
