It was perched in a dead tree, apparently the same one where it was reported by Barb on Monday, 6/7. The perch is across Mapletown Rd. from a mailbox #950. I arrived at Mapletown and Donato Rds. at 12:30 pm and did not see the Kite. I talked to some birders who had been in the area since 11:00 am but were unsuccessful in finding it. I quit after an hour of watching further up Donato Rd. where an open field can be seen on both sides of the road, but then fortunately found it at the perch site. I tried to keep my distance and watched it through the scope. I'll post a photo later in my folder (VFP). Skies were overcast but it was not raining during the time I was there.
