June 25 through July 1, a quiet week for reports from the Niagara Frontier Region.

The AMER. WHITE PELICAN reported on the Buffalo waterfront June 23 has not been relocated.

Breeding birds on the upper Niagara River included 87 GREAT EGRETS at the Motor Island heronry on June 24. Near the river in Tonawanda, an active OSPREY nest with two young close to fledging, on River Road at the asphalt plant.

A Breeding Bird Survey route in the Phillips Creek area of northeast Allegany county reported 69 species including 12 warbler species. Breeding birds heard or seen along Jersey Hill, Worden and Ridge Roads were highlighted by GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET, MOURNING WARBLER, CANADA WARBLER and WHITE-THR. SPARROW.

Also this week, a PILEATED WOODPECKER in a front yard on South Lane in Orchard Park.
