This morning at RMSP Field 2 a diverse group of migrants were moving down the
barrier beach. Highlights included sixty-five Purple Finch and twenty eight
Pine Siskin. Decent numbers of American Robin (350), Red-winged Blackbird
(125), and Yellow-rumped Warbler (750-1000, difficult to estimate) were also
observed. Notable birds included two Short-eared Owls, flushed from the dunes
just east of the RMSP golf course and a Clay-colored Sparrow north of the white
dumpster in the northwest corner of the Field 2 parking lot. Other migrants
included two Eastern Meadowlarks and two Rusty Blackbirds.

Seen by others this morning: A Lincoln's Sparrow was observed in the same
location as the Clay-colored Sparrow by Joe Viglietta.
