There is a major flight of SNOW GEESE tonight (Dec 7th).

Since I got home after dark, I've been hearing flight after flight of them
going over (southbound) from here in New Baltimore, The Greene County, NY.
(~1/3 NYC <------*-------->Montreal)

Because of the dark, getting a count is not possible, however, I'd estimate
that thousands have gone by so far.

Interestingly also, is that we are experiencing quite a bit of lake effect
snow squalls in the area tonight; nothing big, but almost a continuous
pattern of light snow. There isn't much wind at ground level to speak of.
But judging by the snow pattern, I imagine there is a fair cross-wind aloft.
