Just a little while ago I had marvelous views of a Lark Sparrow feeding with a
flock of 4 Chipping, 2 Field, 4 Tree, and several Song Sparrows and Juncos.
The bird was foraging in the grass immediatly west of the entrance to the
Calverton Grasslands by the way of Grumman Blvd. The entire flock was pretty
skittish, often darting into the shrubs bordering the pond there. The Lark
Sparrow was really favoring the grass in front of the chain-link fence on
Grumman Blvd. Pics will be posted when I get home.
