The Lark Sparrow was seen today at 3:00PM at the former Grumman facility in Calverton, Suffolk County. Feeding with a flock of juncos, Am tree, chipping, song and field sparrows, the bird was located to the west of the closed entrance to the facility, by the Community/Day Care Center along Grumman Boulevard just west of the main entrance. The flock was on the grass between the road and the shrubs at the base of the large pine tree and the orange "road closed" sign. The flock was still actively feeding when we left.
