Today, Saturday, 21 May 2011 there were reports of a Swallow-tailed Kite seen moving east from the Great Swamp Wildlife Management Area in north-central New Jersey, and -

a report from Connecticut of 2 Mississippi Kites in a known breeding location, as well as Mississippi Kite reported from Pennsylvania... so... "keep an eye to the sky"!

(Additional sightings of these two Kite species have also been reported from Maryland, Virginia, & points south...)

Also, a Curlew Sandpiper was found & photographed in Rhode Island today; photo at: http://ribird.org/birds_2011/ (photo by observer Paul L'Etoile).
