One black necked stilt appeared at the end of Sebonac Inlet Road in Southampton this morning at 9:30. It was feeding at the shoreline near the bulkhead. It was in the company of many ruddy turnstones, a piping plover and a willet. A jogger flushed the flock and the stilt flew across the channel to land behind the sandy island/peninsula directly across from the road. The area where the stilt is appearing appears to be a favorite spot for fishermen, joggers, bicyclists and locals. Earlier, a second stilt was seen. Mike Higgiston
