We've just received word that on 11 Sept 2011, Philip and Alice
Bricknerphotographed a GREAT KISKADEE at an apartment window in
Spuyten
Duyvil. This is situated on the Hudson River just north of Manhattan in the
West Bronx. Readers will remember that on 31 August a Great Kiskadee was
photographed near the Intrepid Museum at 46th Street in New York City. Again
this is on the east bank of the Hudson River, a little over 9 miles south of
the recent location.

The simplest conclusion is that the 'Intrepid kiskadee' is alive and
wandering (alternatively, there is more than one kiskadee at large in NYC).
Regardless, area birders should keep a sharp eye out. This is a potential
new species for the NYS Checklist (pending NYSARC review) and full details
of any additional sightings should be submitted to NYSARC and to the
Kingbird Region 10 Editor (Seth Ausubel).

Just for fun, by extrapolating these two data points we might predict the
next sighting to be on Thursday in or around Dobbs Ferry! This is Region 9,
where Mike Bochnik is the regional editor.
