I spent the morning searching some areas around Coney Island for the GRAY-HOODED GULL without success. Places visited in order from 6:15-11:45 were Marine Park ballfields, Floyd Bennett, Plum Beach, Manhattan Beach, Sheepshead Bay Marina & the Coney Island boardwalk east of the Wonder Wheel. Spent the last 45 min of that time in front of the "palm tree" sprinkler. The sprinkler was on and there were gulls bathing but no Gray-Hooded as of 11:45.
