I'll be brief with this very late post. On Sunday, 12/4, Tom Moran and I headed west, first, for the Troupial (last seen days before in Roslyn) which we missed. We than looked for the bird at the Nassau Co. Museum of Art (the old Mackay Estate) a mere 1/4 mile (as the "Raven" flies) from where it was seen previously, with the same results. While there, Tom did manage to see what probably was a Winter Wren. We then headed for Jones Beach, and with the helpful directions of Seth Ausubel, found our FOS Snowy Owl. Because of time constraints, our next/final stop on the way home was at Patchouge Lake, where we missed the EUWI, but did luck upon a late Nashville Warbler. The bird was working the bushes along the water, just to the s/o the boat-ramp,and at the e/edge of the cemetery. The b/r is at the end of 2nd St., on the w/s of P/L, close to the s/end of the lake. It can be reached o/o Waverly Ave, using 3rd St., and then a short cross-over street (?).
