Considering that this is a bird that will attract out-of-staters that may have
no knowledge of the area, it’s worth mentioning that Point Lookout is located
on the south shore of Nassau county, Long Island. The principal highway to take
is the Meadowbrook Parkway, which can be accessed from the Long Island
Expressway, Northern Parkway, and Southern Parkway. Go south most of the way
(passing over 2 small bridges over the bay) and exit to the Loop Parkway (just
before the toll booths). Then follow the local directions. Here is a composite
of some that have been given.

Take Loop Parkway. At end go straight across the intersection into Hempstead
Town Park (or Point Lookout Town Park (whatever it actually says)). Follow
entrance road past booths. Take left on road running along north edge of large
parking field. Bird is in the pines on your left. These pines are just west of
the "Rockpile". You’ll be facing north at the pine grove. The warbler has been
seen mainly in the midsection of the pine grove and to the right a bit.
