The Eared Grebe was present in the usual spot. It was best observed by  
sitting on bench #7 and looking at Jamaica Bay. A scope was necessary. In the  
same area were Horned Grebes and Bufflehead. Difficulties were the angle of 
the  sun and some choppy waves.
Birds of note on the West Pond were Pintail, Goldeneye and Black-crowned  
Night Heron.
