A cold and windy day brought out 18 birders on our weekly Saturday bird walk at
The New York Botanical Garden. We had a nice selection of birds, but noticeably
absent were our resident great horned owls. The male was last seen on Tuesday
so we are hopeful they found a new nesting area and are, in fact, nesting. Their
old snag finally succumbed to decay a few months ago.
