This a summary of the Hudson-Mohawk Birdline reports for the week

Seventy-four species were reported this week. Most-reported species 
include Turkey Vulture (9 reports), Song Sparrow (8), Killdeer (6) and 
Pileated Woodpecker (6).


The best birds were:

LONG-TAILED DUCK: Collins Lake 3/25; Lock 7 3/25 (2).

GREAT CORMORANT: Germantown 3/24 (several), 3/27 (3).

MERLIN: Ghent 3/22.

VIRGINIA RAIL: Livingston 3/27.

LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH: Five Rivers 3/25.

RUSTY BLACKBIRD: Ballston 3/25 (large flock).

White-winged Scoter: 4-mile Point 3/25.

Ruffed Grouse: Burnt Hills 3/25.

Wild Turkey: Guilderland 3/21 (14); Pine Bush 3/21 (7); Kinderhook 3/23 
(6); Ghent 3/24 (3).

Pied-billed Grebe: Ghent 3/24; Livingston 3/27 (2).

Black Vulture: Delmar 3/25 (5+).

Bald Eagle: Vischer Ferry 3/22; 4-mile Point 3/25.

Sharp-shinned Hawk: Chatham 3/22.

American Kestrel: Stuyvesant 3/23 (4); Ghent 3/24; Germantown 3/27; 
Schenectady Co. Airport 3/28.

Wilson's Snipe: Ghent 3/22 (5), 3/24.

Barred Owl: Glenville 3/21.

Winter Wren: Dyken Pond 3/21 (3); Five Rivers 3/22; Saratoga Battlefield 
3/24.

Common Raven: Dyken Pond 3/21; Ghent 3/24.

Horned Lark: Schenectady County Airport 3/28.

Tree Swallow: Five Rivers 3/24; 4-mile Point 3/25 (many).

Carolina Wren: Vischer Ferry 3/22; Greenport 3/23 (2).

Golden-crowned Kinglet: Vischer Ferry 3/22; Saratoga Battlefield 3/24.

Hermit Thrush: Five Rivers 3/22, 3/24.

Yellow-rumped Warbler (Greenport 3/23).

Eastern Towhee: Cobleskill 3/26.

Chipping Sparrow: Guilderland 3/22; West Sand Lake 3/24.

Field Sparrow: Five Rivers 3/22; Chatham 3/22; Greenport 3/23 (3); 
Saratoga Battlefield 3/24 (2).

Eastern Meadowlark: Ghent 3/22; Chatham 3/22.

Purple Finch: East Greenbush 3/26 (2); Providence 3/26 (3).

Pine Siskin: Providence 3/26 (2).
