Alley Pond Park 20 April

After meeting at Hempstead Lake SP, Joe Giunta, Pat Jones and I (Sy Schiff)
left . (Birding there was dull there). It was not significantly better at Alley
Pond. However, we did find some FOS birds and were serenaded by Yellow-rumped
Warblers almost everywhere we went, Other warblers were a single PALM WARBLER
and a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT singing from the vegetation in the pond at the bottom
of the stairs.

Other birds of interest were BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, WARBLING VIREO, HOUSE
WREN, CHIPPING SPARROW and a half dozen lingering RUSTY BLACKBIRDS.
