Following up on Ken Feustel's observations barrier beach report: along Dune
Road this afternoon I found three Baltimore Orioles and three Brown Thrashers
within a few hundred feet of each other, along the Old Ponquogue Bridge
boat-launch road. A Common Loon was under the bridge, along side the parking
lot, and two Nashville Warblers were just west of the traffic light at the
south end of the bridge. At Tiana ocean-side pavilion, I saw a Great-Crested
Flycatcher. Indigo Bunting were seen near Neptune's and also on the front lawn
of house #81, where they were seen over the weekend. I also noted great
numbers of White-throated Sparrows, though not the numbers that Ken reported.
There were at least 3 flocks of 10-20 birds in each flock. The only shorebirds
I saw were Willets, Killdeer, and Greater Yellow-legs.
