The *American Avocet* was still on the North End of the East Pond when I left around 11: 45 a.m. It was being observed by Patricia Lindsay and Rob Bate. If you try and don't see the bird on the North End, you may want to check the South End of the East Pond as well as the West Pond.
In other shorebird notes: On Sunday a few of us were treated to a nice study of *Long-billed Dowitchers*. Heydi Lopes and I had a real stand out at the North End, which we were able to study and photograph. Later on, we met up with Steve Walter near the South End who reported at least 3 LBDOs. Steve, Heydi and I connected with 2 of them and were later joined by Tom Burke, Gail Benson and Bob Washburn as we observed and photographed the *Long-billed Dowitchers*. Steve got some good photos, though he feels they were only "decent" ones :) Even though we were confident on the ID, it was helpful when the birds called while in flight, thus sealing the deal. Other notables around the pond include: *Western Sandpiper*, *White-rumped Sandpipers*, *Stilt Sandipers* still showing in decent numbers, a *Solitary Sandpiper* at Big John's Pond, a *Sanderling* on the North Island and a few *Pectorals*. I have looked for and unfortunately* have not* re-found the the juvenile *Wilson's Phalarope* since it was last observed flying off the south end of the East Pond on Monday.
