For the second time in less than a week I found a Connecticut Warbler at the Deli Fields area of the Bashakill WMA. The first was found on 9/14 (see earlier post) and the second was found this morning in the same hedge row approximately 100 feet from where the previous bird was found. Again, this was a first year bird. While I had good looks at the bird it was not as cooperative as the earlier bird and it stayed low in the bushes or on the ground. While this could be the same bird, I would believe this to be a new arrival based on very favorable migration conditions over this past weekend, and the fact we are now in the peak migration time for this species.
