At the start of an otherwise uneventful walk through the Ramble at
about 9:15am, I saw a crow high in a tree just SE of Maintenance.
Thought nothing of it until, as I was exiting the meadow, I heard a
very nasal "ung! ung!". I turned around and the crow gave another
quick pair of adenoidal caws and flew off north. So, a Fish Crow in
Central Park, I haven't seen that often. Otherwise, no Redpoll at
Evodia this morning, alas; lots of Goldfinches on the ground in
Mugger's Woods, quite charming.

Getting off the subway at Bryant Park about 10:15, I decided to try my
luck with the Ovenbird that's been occasionally reported since early
autumn, and it obligingly came out of the shrubs at the extreme NW
corner of the park for a brief viewing. (<a

How can you keep 'em out in the woods once they've seen the big
city?

Good birding,
