After a years-long scarcity of Ruffs in NY, it's remarkable to have 6 in
consecutive years downstate alone (4 last year at Jamaica Bay's East Pond and
the two today). Even more so considering that Timberpoint is hardly a shorebird
hotspot. Another great find by Michael McBrien and a serendipitous find of the
second bird by Andrew and I later.
Four passable digiscoped photos (embedded in eBird checklist) of both Ruffs can
be viewed here: http://ebird.org/ebird/ny/view/checklist?subID=S13734917
