Yesterday, at Massapequa , Long Island, about 5 PM, next to where the brook flows at the south end of the pond, at the Pittsburgh Ave. entrance to the park, I found a flock of warblers. Most interesting was a Yellow -throated Warbler, which stayed in close view for over 15 minutes, as close as 10 feet away only a few feet off the ground, when I had to go home for dinner. I tried to take its picture but it moved too fast to get a good one. Andy Murphy In a message dated 4/18/2013 8:25:19 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time, birdingd...@gmail.com writes:
I just received a phone call from Sam Janazzo who reports a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER at Hempstead Lake (the 2nd one this year for that location?). The bird, is currently being observed just south of parking lot 3. Many thanks to Sam for the prompt report. Good luck if you go!
