Missing the stint, while being disappointing, did not "put me down". The reason being I have seen this species twice before. The 1st was on 8/24/92, at Overlook Beach, along the Ocean Parkway between Jones Beach & Captree. The 2nd time was on 7/13/00, at Pikes Inlet, Westhampton Dune less than 1/4 mile from Andrew & John's bird.
