I managed to get in about an hours birding at Cupsogue County Park this morning
before some bands of heavy rain came through, catching me out on the flats. The
highlight was a single Marbled Godwit on one of the bars formed off the main
channel to the back of the marsh. Two birders who alerted me to the Godwit's
presence also reported seeing Whimbrels, but I did not encounter any on my
brief stay on the marsh. Photos of the Godwit are on my flickr site.
