This morning I went to Dune Rd. Via Westhampton Beach. In the Village of Westhampton Beach near Aspatuck Creek (on Aspatuck Rd) I noticed several crows, however one individual had white bars on its wings when it flew. I got some (not so great) photos showing this off, which can be seen on my blog here: http://birdsoflongisland.blogspot.com/2014/01/white-winged-crow.html
>From the little research I did online it appears that this is a rare trait seen in some otherwise "normal" crows. Anyone have more information or have seen birds like this? -- - Luke www.birdsoflongisland.blogspot.com -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
