Today, between Grandson # 2's (Robert Joseph Connors) basketball games, I
took Grandson # 3 (Brendan James Connors) down to Jones Beach for a bit of
birding, which hopefully would include his laying eyes on the Snowy Owl
that has been reported regularly from the West End 2 Area, as late as
yesterday.

Being with a novice out in the field, on a fairly warm, winter day when
there are birds around, is to experience real joy ! Most of the shared
sightings are "firsts" for the "newbie, and his or her excitement, wonder
and appreciation are contagious ! The following list is in in consecutive
order:

!) Pair of Red-tailed Hawks perched, side by side in tree, Meadowbrook
Parkway
2) Canada Geese, Medium ,in front of T.R. Museum
3) Pair of adult Peregrine Falcons, resting on J.B. Water Tower.
4) Horned Grebe, Coast Guard Area.
5) Common Loon, " " "

8) Bufflehead " " "
