Sunday eve., 4 May, 2014 - Staten Island, N.Y. City Just learned of this... a Black-necked Stilt was found & then seen by at least 3 observers on Staten Island's north side, at the Goethal's Bridge Pond area; a report apparently sent out just after 8 p.m. [?] and the Stilt apparently "best seen from Trailer Park Row A". The finder is Richard Veit. Should the stilt be seen again this morning, word will go out again; perhaps first via the SINaturalist group-list.
(odds on this being the Prospect Park bird of the other day? or are there a number of these north of typical range now...?0 good birding, Tom Fiore Manhattan -- NYSbirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/NYSbirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/nysbirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/NYSBirds-L 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/NYSB.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
