The flock of 800 Canada Geese began lifting off from the significant open water around 9:45 this morning. The Barnacle Goose was on the extreme western shore at the far edge of the flock. Four Greater White-fronted Geese were tucked up in the cove (inlet?) at the north east corner of the lake. There was at least one Cackling Goose in the middle of the flock. No Snow Geese on the lake, they must roost elsewhere. It was cold.
