With this proven second Western Kingbird (at Jones Beach while a bird was demonstrably present at Robert Moses SP), it is worth considering the possibility that more than one individual has been involved in the observations at RMSP dating back to 1 October.
I've been working with a student, Lucinda Zawadzki, on studying the timing and stopover durations of fall vagrant Western Kingbirds and would be interested in confirming or refuting the continuity of a single individual at RMSP 1 Oct to present. Several people have sent me photos from the last three days at RMSP, but I'd appreciate links or jpegs from earlier dates.
