Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)------------ Still good numbers of Shorebirds around. 13 species reported. One report of a HUDSONIAN GODWITon 10/14 along the Wildlife Trail. 10/13: 10 species of Shorebirds including WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER and LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER reported at the Visitor’s Center and the Wildlife Trail. 10/14: A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen at the Main Pool. 10/17: A sighting with a photo of an extremely rare WHITE-CHEEKED PINTAIL was reported from the Main Pool. No follow up or pictures on line yet. 10/18: A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was found on the Wildlife Trail. An EURASIAN WIGEON was seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh. Onondaga county------------ 10/13: A BLACK SCOTER and a SURF SCOTER were seen on Beaver Lake. 10/16: 2 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS are still being seen at Joseph F. William Park on Oneida Lake. 10/18: A CACKLING GOOSE was seen at the confluence of the Oneida and Oswego Rivers south of Phoenix. 10/19: A very late VEERY was seen at Pratt’s Falls Park. Oswego County------------ 10/14: A FORSTER’S TERN was seen at Derby Hil. 10/15: An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at a private residence in Hastings. Oneida County------------ 10/18: A late VESPER SPARROW was seen on Sterling Road east of Verona Beach State Park. Madison County------------ 10/18: A CACKLING GOOSE was found at Woodman Pond.
