Yesterday and today, birders on the NYC Audubon winter weekend trip to Montauk searched for the Ash-throated Flycatcher at Fort Hill Cemetery without success. A groundskeeper who was familiar with the bird said he last saw it 4 days ago.
We did see a Peregrine Falcon fly over the cemetery this morning, however. There also were thousands of sea ducks, mostly eiders, mergansers and scoters, seen from the Camp Hero bluffs and 5 Long-tailed ducks at the seal haulout site.
