This morning, on an outgoing tide, there were a decent variety of shorebirds on the bar at the West End marina, and a good variety in the ponds between WE2 and the nature preserve. Highlights included some fifteen Western Willets on the sandbar along with four Red Knots. On the ponds were two Stilt Sandpipers and a Pectoral Sandpiper along with an immature Yellow-crowned Night Heron. Although shorebird numbers were not particularly impressive, variety was good with fourteen species recorded.
