When working on the wiki for NYS eBird Hotspots I continually compare the previous bar chart list with the current one and can spot any new additions and/or deletions by species. By going to the maps or the 'Overview' I can then determine the date the species was added to each county. Some are from newly submitted checklists from several decades ago.
This is not easy to see on the eBird.org website. On the Overview page you can sort on 'First Seen' but if the species was added from a checklist dating from months or years ago it won't appear at the top of the list.
