This afternoon, my streak of good luck continued when I found a PIPING PLOVER in a flooded field on the north side of Lower Lake Road, at the end of Burgess Road in the Town of Somerset, Niagara County. There were a lot of other shorebirds there, mainly Semipalmated Sandpipers, Dunlin, and Semipalmated Plovers. Here is my checklist, with photos of the Piper: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S37071724
This follows a breeding-plumaged HUDSONIAN GODWIT on Saturday in the Town of Wilson (seen only the one day) and a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT heard at Wilson-Tuscarora SP yesterday (not heard today). Good birding!
