Greetings: This is the Syracuse Rare Bird Alert for the week of July 17, 2017.

Montezuma National Wildlife Complex (MNWC) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex 
(MWC)------------
     Thirteen Shorebird species were reported at the complex this week. The 
RUFF was seen last on 7/24. Both DOWITCHERS and a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER were 
seen.     7/24: The RUFF was seen one last time along the Wildlife Drive. The 
AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN was seen and reported through 7/27.     7/29: 2 BLACK 
TERNS were seen at Tschache Pool.     7/30: BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were 
seen at Knox-Marsellus Pool and along the Wildlife Drive. LEAST BITTERNS were 
seen along the Wildlife Drive. 3 SANDHILL CRANES were seen from East Road. 2 
ORCHARD ORIOLES were seen on VanDyne Spoor Road.

Cayuga County------------
     7/27: 1 RUDDY TURNSTONES and 2 SANDERLINGS were seen at West Barrier Beach 
in Fair Haven.     
Onondaga County------------
     7/26: A GREAT EGRET was stt at the outlet of Nine Mile Creek near the 
State Fair,     7/31: An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER continues at Whiskey Hollow Nature 
Preserve in Baldwinsville.

Madison County------------
     7/25: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on Ditchbank Road north of Chittenango.

Oneida County------------
     7/24: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on Summitt Road south of Saquoit.     
7/30: A LITTLE GULL continues to be spotted at Sylvan Beach.

Oswego County------------
     7/27: A SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER was seen at Sunset Bay Park on Lake 
Ontario.     7/29: An early migrant BAY-BREASTED WARBLER was spotted in West 
Monroe.

Herkimer county------------
     7/27: A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen on Mixter Road south of Jordanville.
