Hi, I've submitted an eBird checklist with a couple of photos of the White Pelican from Jamaica Bay: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S39467381
The bird flew in from the north, circled the south end of the East Pond, and flew back northwards. Perhaps it was looking for a place to roost for the night? In which case it might be fruitful to look for it tomorrow. Good luck if you do!
